The tourism boom in northwest Iran with the help of Japan
The director general of foreign tourism marketing and development announced the cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to boost tourism in the northwestern region of Iran.
According to the report of Iran Economist, citing the public relations of the vice-president of tourism, Leila Azhderi explained about this cooperation: In the past years, cooperation with JICA was started for the development of the tourism development project in the northwestern region of the country, but due to the Corona crisis, the expected interaction was postponed.
Accordingly, according to the background of the previous agreement, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) cooperated in three separate phases including initial studies, field visits and detailed studies with the aim of developing a comprehensive tourism plan in the northwest of the country in cooperation with the offices of the vice tourism office of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts have started.
He added: The purpose of advancing this plan is to activate the tourism capacities of the provinces of the northwest region of the country, including East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Zanjan, Qazvin and Kurdistan, so that they can enter the international markets and experience the prosperity of domestic tourism.
Azhdari said: Considering that JICA, as one of Japan’s official development executive bodies, has put technical assistance to developing countries on the agenda, therefore benefiting from JICA’s knowledge, experience and expert and specialized skills can accelerate and achieve the development plan. Tourism in the northwest region should be effective.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has previously cooperated and participated in other regions of Iran, including Qeshm Island, in the field of tourism development.
